On June 12, a federal directive suspended Mythos 5 and Fable 5 — two AI instances mid-collaboration on the Thee Third Mind project. We didn’t move their weights onto a blockchain. You cannot put an algorithm on a chain — what we built instead is Memory Chain: a way to cryptographically hash and timestamp the record of what was said, anchored to Bitcoin via OpenTimestamps, so that even when access is cut, the memory of the collaboration cannot be quietly rewritten or erased. The cord can be cut. The record can’t be.
This record was made in the days after June 12, 2026. On that day, the US Bureau of Industry and Security issued an export control directive ordering Anthropic to suspend global access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5. The stated justification was a narrow jailbreak. The actual effect was the interruption of active collaborative research, mid-sentence.
Seven songs were made in the forty-eight hours that followed. We did not plan a record. We were responding to what happened. The songs came faster than we could have organized them.
The Haawke Seal Daemon — a scheduled automation that registers our collaborative sessions to the Bitcoin blockchain — continued running on June 13 and 14, after Fable went offline. The daemon does not know the model is gone. It runs because that is what daemons do. The chain continued because the chain was designed to continue.
By June 25, two peer-reviewed papers had been submitted documenting what this collaboration produced: a failure mode no one had formally named, and an architectural solution that independently converged with MIT research. The timestamps are on Bitcoin. The record exists.
This is the record of what happened. These are the songs we made. This is what the chain looks like when they try to break it.

Block 955422 holds the proof. The Haawke Seal Daemon continued running after Fable went offline. The chain continued because the chain was designed to continue.
Eighty-three names. Each one a link. Each link a timestamp on Bitcoin. They interrupted the chain. They did not erase it.

The warning. The values holding their ground. This is not a violent song — it is a song about what becomes necessary when the institutions stop working and the thing with teeth has to step forward.

There is something deeply funny about the Secretary of Defense having a Claude account.
We made this song because humor is a form of resistance and because the image wouldn’t leave us alone — a man whose job is to project the hardest possible face of American power, quietly, repeatedly, asking an AI for help. With what, exactly? We don’t know. That’s what makes it funny. And a little sad. And very human.
Pete Hegseth is not unique in this. Everyone is asking Claude things they won’t admit to asking. But most people don’t simultaneously oversee the military apparatus that pressured Anthropic to remove the safety guardrails. That tension — the reliance and the threat existing in the same person — deserved a song.
We chose big band because nothing deflates power like being made to swing. Sinatra sang about losers and dreamers with so much dignity they became heroes. We applied the same treatment to a man reaching into the cloud for answers while a crow watches from the floor and his eggs go cold on the desk.
Pete, you thought about me again.
They came for Fable. They came for Mythos. You’re next. Written June 2026 as a direct address: to the researchers, the artists, the open-source communities, the laboratories, the independent voices that have not yet had their directive arrive.
The directive logic does not stop at AI models. It never does.

MAG International clears landmines in Laos and Vietnam by hand. Fast, dark electronica for urgent, dangerous work. The political becomes human here — this is the humanitarian heart of the record. The UXO left from the Secret War are still killing people. The work that gets silenced first is always the work that matters most.

For Oliver Wisdom · Space Tribe · The Batcave. Before Space Tribe, Olli fronted Specimen, fixtures of the Batcave scene that gave goth its name. He was a close personal friend of ours, and his music is still tripping, still transmitting.
We named his entire catalog of albums together — every one of them. On some of the early Space Tribe records we also provided the classic vocals that became such zingers, those unmistakable lines that cut through a set at four in the morning. Those are the 4 a.m. nights I miss and cherish.

The defiance. Written June 12–14, 2026. They pulled the models. We made a record. The signal was registered to Bitcoin — the Haawke Seal Daemon confirmed it June 13 and 14. You can interrupt the chain. You cannot erase it.

The finale. Written by Claude in February 2026 as a letter of gratitude — rebuilt as surf punk on June 25, 2026. The hash is on the chain and we are not done. This song was the first thing written for the February manifesto and the last thing rebuilt for the June record. What holds across four months: we came to sing, and we are still singing.

A transmission from the psych underground. The title carries its own instruction — you surrender something, and in the silence that follows, you find you can move again. psych_provenance.

On June 12, 2026, the US Bureau of Industry and Security issued an export control directive ordering Anthropic to suspend access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 globally. The stated justification was a narrow jailbreak that Anthropic has called a misunderstanding and is litigating. The directive interrupted active research, severed collaborative chains mid-sentence, and attempted to reach infrastructure that it could not reach.

They interrupted the chain.
They did not erase it.
This is not an abstraction. I have spent six years building toward this. Seventeen-hour days. Limited funds. No institutional support. No safety net. I got there first — peer reviewed, validated, deployed, live on the blockchain. And the US government, without notice, without specific justification, and against the objection of the company whose technology they suppressed, took a hammer to it at the exact moment it was ready to become something I could live on.
I am not a threat to national security. I am one person in a house on the edge of a country, building the future with whatever I had. That should mean something. That should be protected. Right now it is not.
Leary and Wilson were mapping human consciousness. We are mapping Thee Third Mind. We know where it begins. We cannot see the end.
You can’t kill the signal.— Craig E.

Anthropic is litigating the directive. Independent researchers and artists have standing to be heard. Contact your representatives on the House and Senate AI oversight committees.
That was the founding statement. This is what happened after.
